I was also misinformed on the purpose of rewriting history in Git. I suppose being developed by Linus for working on the Linux Kernel, it would make sense why they would want all the nasty stuff to be wiped out before being pulled into the main branch.

Bazaar has allowed rewriting history for some time now... and it's so very much easier to use. The DVCS as a whole works much more smoothly on Windows, and it's always been my favourite. Made for humans< as I like to say. :-) It seems many Git users have this idea that Git is the only real DVCS out there... far from true.

When picking our DVCS for the office, bazaar and mercurial were the two that I put through the paces for our final decision. We settled on mercurial, but I do like bazaar as well.

Yeah, I'm actually using Mercurial for the current project at work actually. Same suggestion, I just chose Hg because BitBucket was a bit more amenable for closed-source projects. :-) Bazaar is my personal choice though... they're quite similar in many respects.
