Branch-Per-Feature Source Control. Part 1: Why(lostechies.com)

Having worked in a Branch-Per-Feature mode for almost a year now, I am all but refusing to work in any other way. I no longer have to worry about other developers clobbering my WIP. I no longer have to worry about clobbering their WIP. I can deliver my build to the BA or Test environment, without fear of someone else’s feature being half-done and getting invalid tickets entered against my feature. I can even do a complete release to production based on a single feature being complete, at this point.
