Rene Schulte extended his Silverlight 4 webcam and edge detection shader sample. He added a functionality to save webcam snapshots as JPEG files and discusses some limitations of Silverlight's built-in CaptureSource.AsyncCaptureImage snapshot method. Furthermore he gives some ideas on how to build a Silverlight 4 video chat / conference application on top of the JPEG capturing and encoding code.
