Google Trends of Programming Languages

Google Trends shows the popularity of search terms over a period of time and allows you to compare how many searches are being performed on various terms. This post looks at the result of querying Google Trends on various programming languages, and considers whether we can use this data to say anything at all about the relative popularity of different programming languages.
