Has Microsoft Killed RSS?

With the release of Microsoft .NET 3.5 the .NET framework finally comes with native support for web content syndication, and provides the ability to parse and generate Atom 1.0 and RSS 2.0 syndicated content. But some issues may lead to a move away from RSS to Atom.
