SharePoint Disaster Recovery And Backups

A customer asked about SharePoint backups and what was the recommended approach. I mentioned the standard SharePoint backups through the GUI and via stsadm. I also mentioned that SQL backups could be done of the SharePoint databases. I wasn't really happy with this answer as it doesn't provide a strategy for disaster recovery. So I did some research and discovered that Microsoft had released a full 40 page white paper on the topic.
