Should Technical Interviews Feel Like Quiz Shows?

As someone who is often very active in the interviewing process for new candidates I usually try to shy away from technically grilling the candidate to the point that they feel well done. There's a lot that technically rigorous quizzing won't reveal about the potential candidate.
