Subsonic 3 released(web2asp.net)

submitted by sedgeysedgey(1728) 2 years, 10 months ago

Just read Rob Conery’s Blog and saw that Subsonic 3 is now available for download. For those unfamiliar with Subsonic it really is the ONLY no BS ORM out there, in fact it is so easy to get up and running that it is easy to forget that you ever set it up in the first place. The whole Subsonic ethic is to remove the hoops that other ORM’s have you jump through and essentially to get you home earlier. read more...

submitted by LordLord(3737) 3 years ago

Holy cow! Another *DD – man I really must have an IV with that Alt.NET Punch just coursing like a train in my veins! I ask for your patience with this one – cause I think BDD is a really good tool to know – whether you use it or not – knowing the workings of it will allow you to have some intelligent conversation the next time you’re in Austin :). read more...

Kobe – In the nuts & bolts and don’t really liking it(ayende.com)

submitted by LordLord(3737) 3 years, 1 month ago

There is another ASP.Net MVC sample app, this time it is official, passed the proper review procedure, and is explicitly marketed as “intended to guide you with the planning, architecting, and implementing of Web 2.0 applications and services.” I am saying all of that in order to distinguish it from Oxite, which was non of this things. There have been a couple of reviews of Kobe already. Frankly, I don’t really care for them, mostly because I think that they dealt too much with nitty gritty details of the app that doesn’t really matter much. I don’t much care for extra using or the use of System.Int32 vs. int, the naming convention used or even what sort of HTML formatting they used. I mostly care about the code and architecture. So I decided to take a look myself. read more...

Kona: Continuous Integration and Better Unit Testing(blog.wekeroad.com)

submitted by johnrummelljohnrummell(1321) 3 years, 1 month ago

In this screencast Rob Conery and Brad Wilson talk about continuous integration with TeamCity, Unit Testing with xUnit and TDD in general. "This screencast went from a simple idea – talking to Brad Wilson about better Unit Testing – to some pretty broad topics such as source control, unit testing, and continuous integration. I seriously could have written a whole book based on the stuff flying through my mind. I reigned it in a bit and decided to focus on two things that I don’t think get enough press: writing a good Unit Test coupled with Continuous Integration." read more...
