Windows Azure Drive (aka X-Drive)(blog.maartenballiauw.be)

submitted by maartenbamaartenba(5845) 2 years, 3 months ago

With today’s release of the Windows Azure Tools and SDK version 1.1, also the Windows Azure Drive feature has been released. Announced at last year’s PDC as X-Drive, which has nothing to do with a well-known German car manufacturer, this new feature enables a Windows Azure application to use existing NTFS APIs to access a durable drive. This blog post will describe the necessary steps to create and/or mount a virtual hard disk on a Windows Azure role instance. read more...

Please note that there are many other factors for query to not perform well; expired statistics are one of them for sure. read more...

Large or asynchronous file uploads in ASP.NET MVC(dimebrain.com)

submitted by johnsheehanjohnsheehan(4785) 2 years, 4 months ago

The challenge of uploading large files in ASP.NET through HTTP is not a new challenge. In addition to handling large files, users often request an experience that shows the progress of an upload as it occurs. When you have either or both of these requirements, or if you simply need direct control of a stream of file data uploaded from a browser, you invariably hit the wall. I set about solving the problem in an ASP.NET MVC-specific way. read more...
