This could encourage people to try SL 1.0 rather than waiting for SL 1.1.

Hi Gavin, Out of curiousity why did you drop ajaxpro? Was there a reason for not using asp.net ajax? I remember someone asking if you were going to do a blog posting about your decision. I'd like to +1 that (if and when you have the time). Cheers, John

I think it is worth staying on. (1) Getting familiar with Ruby will help those trying to learn IronRuby (2) Learning rails may show you concepts you can apply to your .Net projects.
SubSonic - Migrate Me
Looks good. What are your thoughts on IronRuby? Do you think you'll see a lot more ruby tools ported to .net?
NSpec merges with NBehave!
I'd be interested in what people thought about NBehave. To me it looks quite intuitive and a nice addition to unit tests. Haven't actually tried it yet and they haven't released a merged NSpec/NBehave version yet (I think 0.3 went out just before this announcement).

Spoiler (Perhaps) - Silverlight to run on Symbian phones!
posted by johnman(1280) 4 years, 2 months ago 0
Personally I think we need Silverlight to run on mobile phone browsers as well as the desktop as it is becoming more and more common place to see people browsing the web via their phone. With speeds picking up, phones becoming more powerful and tariffs becoming more acceptable (e.g. here in the UK T-Mobile has helped encourage uptake via it's Web-N-Walk tariff for unlimited* browsing). * I think it is limited to 1 GB and has a fair usage policy. If Microsoft are looking to release SL 2 for Symbian then this is indeed great news as it means mobile consumer apps are more of a possibility (if you are restricted to only windows mobile then it wouldn't make sense as they do not have enough market share for a consumer app). I wanted to develop Silverlight apps anyway but this just gives me an additional reason. John
Update: I read on a blog posting that it seems to be Silverlight 1 support and not 2 :(
