Disable .pdb file generation in Release Mode(gchandra.wordpress.com)

In VS2005 .pdb files get generated in debug as well as in Release mode. This article explains how to stop .pdb files from getting generated.

I would think twice before doing this, because doing that would leave you out of sustaining data and you won't get any performance gains (build is already optimized)

So I still didn't understand why I won't delete them ??? .NET doesn't use it, build already optimized - why I need .pdb files ?
