I'm excited to see Microsoft embracing the open source community and releasing packages on NuGet, rather than integrating them into the core product. This has the added benefit of allowing them to release new features outside of the normal product lifecycle.

There are lots of new features and information to catch up with. Model Binding in WebForms, WebPages with controller code, Node.js integration in WebMatrix are some of the things that are promising. Microsoft is releasing all of its open source libraries in NuGet. The new RIA is based on HTML5 and jQuery, which is also worth taking a look.

I think it is exciting as well. I'm glad to see them adding features or making changes that in the past you use to have to pay to get from a third party utility.
