Developers need to grok Windows Azure, especially developers who want to distribute consumption of an application in a web-based API. A great use for Microsoft Azure, obviously, is to use it to host an application’s web service API layer. This post will demonstrate how to host WCF services in an Azure worker role in a manner that will offer REST-like JSON API support.

Seems like the only complicated part is using your solution template to avoid the IDE generated cruft, and throwing in the necessary code to make it work with Azure. Nice article, I'll file this away for the day I finally give Azure a shot!

Well, my solution template is just the typical Azure cloud project template. Nothing special or "custom" in there. But yes, that's about the only "convention" that would require specificity in the example.
