Thomas Weller brings up some interesting points regarding testing in the real world vs. what you're told TDD should be in your textbooks. A good read for anyone doing TDD, from beginner to expert.

I've also thought Test Driven Development is good, in moderation... as most things! Following it too stringently definitely has its pitfalls, and can lead to a somewhat narrow-minded approach to development. There are other competing modern ideologies I believe (e.g. Behaviour Driven Development), but I'm not sure any of them works particularly better.
